Sicilian Héros - Black Bees
This blog post starts a series of articles on what we call Sicilian Heroes. At the time of the Greeks heroes would have stood strong as gods fighting against the odds for freedom and immortality. I think of Achilles fighting for immortality, or Oreste going on trial in front of the Gods for his own justice.
Nowadays, Sicilian Heroes dedicate their lives to preserve our ancient traditions and save our environment (at list in our definition of hero). Amongst these modern inspirational figures, we find Carlo Amodeo who saved specific and ancient specie of bee inhabiting Sicily - Apis Mellifera Siciliana or Black Bee. Thanks to his efforts my children will still be able to taste the wonderful honey and this bees are going to contribute to our environment for the years to come.
